James Gainey joined blu-3’s graduate programme after successfully completing a degree in Quantity Surveying in June 2023. James was assigned to the Paddington Square regeneration project in London (he’s the only blu-3 graduate on site!) and he has enjoyed getting involved in all aspects of blu-3’s work on this iconic scheme.
James says: “I love my role here at blu-3. It’s very hands-on, I feel extremely valued, and my work is so engaging. The best thing about being a graduate at blu-3 is the level of in-depth knowledge I have access to, as well as getting the chance to spend so much time on site.”
Senior Quantity Surveyor Hamza Pervaiz started working on the Paddington Square regeneration project in 2021; as well as his day-to-day work, Hamza is mentor to James. The quantity surveying team visit Paddington Square a few times a week to ensure everything is running smoothly and meet regularly with the client.
Hamza says: “James is a fantastic addition to the team and has already added tremendous value since he joined us. He’s keen to learn and brings a fresh perspective. I very much enjoy the mentoring aspect of my role!”
This year, blu-3 expanded its graduate programme, offering more places and a wider range of roles within the business including technical and health and safety.
