Greenwich Square

Located on the old Greenwich district hospital blu-3 have been given the task of providing both the hard and soft landscaping works on this new housing development to include 645 new homes , public square, play areas and planter walls designed by ourselves. We have worked closely with the Principal Contractor Mace to meet the high quality specification the Architect requires to include paving, granite kerbs and setts laid in patterns as well as bespoke and innovative street furniture. Our efficient and effective attitude along with a strong working relationship with the client has seen blu-3 being approached by Mace on several occasions to undertake further works to include utility pits for HV & LV connections and ducting for other site services such as fibre optics.


Blubell Gate, Holtye Road, East Grinstead

Barratt Homes

Bluebell Gate is a stylish selection of contemporary two, three, four and five bedroom homes near the historic Sussex market town of East Grinstead. blu-3 were appointed in 2012 to undertake the civils and groundworks ‘ scope to deliver the project which is due for completion at the end of 2014. The works include all drainage, RC retaining walls, foundations, piling, utilities, surfacing, blockwork up to DPC and landscaping including hard and soft. blu-3 have also constructed all the asphalt roads, footpaths, gullies and kerbs.


The Movement

Cathedral Group

'The Movement’ is the name given to the redevelopment of the former Greenwich Industrial Estate, adjacent to Greenwich DLR and mainline station, and just a few minutes walk from Greenwich Town Centre. blu-3 were asked to get involved in this regeneration package by providing civil and utilities and off-site infra-structure works. Solutions to some of challenges incurred on the site included the installation of Sustainable drainage Systems, totalling in 252 cubic metres. These Systems are an alternative to the traditional approach of collecting stormwater in pipes and discharging into treatment works or watercourses. SUD’s limit the flow of rainwater which runs off a site or is piped away and reduces the likelihood of downstream flooding. As principal contractor blu-3 coordinated works with adjacent developers, utility companies and the close neighbours. The Movement is recognised as a community engaging project and blu-3 recognised the importance of regular coordination meetings to ensure the project ran smoothly and safely whilst keeping the local community engaged in the project and listening and taking into account their views.


Battersea Power Station

Part of a multi-billion pound enterprise at the historic location of Battersea Power Station the regeneration and redevelopment of the site includes building over 800 luxury apartments raising £700million for that part of the project alone. The development will encompass a vibrant and holistic new town centre where people will live, work, socialise, enjoy the arts, explore the shops, and experience the Power Station. blu-3 are enjoying the huge task in the regeneration process and have been part of the project since commencement back in March 2013. blu-3 has been involved from the beginning through remediation groundworks removing over 7,000m3 of material whilst carrying out hard landscaping works including, drainage, attenuation tanks, kerbing and paving. Works to the River Thames wall were carried out as well as providing street furniture, street lighting amongst others. All this carried out in Phase I of the project. We now look forward to working alongside multi-national contractors on the next Phase.


Victoria Circle, London

The first phase of the transformation of Victoria Circle comprises mostly offices and 170 luxury modern apartments within three striking buildings on a 5.5 acre site directly opposite Victoria station. The three year build is worth in the region of £380m. The complete scheme will provide 910,000 sq ft mix of retail, residential, office and public amenity space across six buildings. The new main builds comprise of a13-storey building containing 170 private residential units with retail at ground and first floor, fronting Buckingham Palace Road (Building 5); a further 19-storey office building with retail at ground and first floor levels fronting Victoria Street (Building 7a) and a 14-storey office building with retail at ground and first floor levels fronting Bressenden Place (Building 6b). All the while modification will be carried out to three other buildings on the site.

Construction and fit out including new access road construction Work Package A – Construction of a new substation compound, inclusive of a new Switchroom. Work Package B – Installation and Commissioning of Substation external and buried Earthing System. The new Switchroom building and cable trench shall be constructed. The building and switchgear will be completed to a point where they are ready to be put into service When the bases are ready, new plant will be installed and commissioned: Transformer 1 HV cables Package Substation in GRP housing Associated LV and auxiliary cables All new plant will be energised and put into service. The existing Transformer 2 will be taken out of service and removed from site freeing the space to construct the new Transformer 2 and 3 bund and plinths, drainage, access road, cable access ways and ducting and alterations to the site fence.
